Counting down the days

So this is the first post, feels quite momentous. I told myself that I wasn't going to start using this thing until I actually got to DC and something to write about for everyone back home but this thing is just sittiing here uselessly in cyberspace at the moment and I suppose beginning with the run up to leaving is just as worthwhile as is beginning when I actually arrive.

That being said let me just clarify one thing, waiting is miserable. I've never been a patient person and I've now been counting down the days far too long. I'm more or less exactly two months away from flying out (or at least I would be if the necessary paperwork would arrive!) and still nothing has been organised, it might as well still be February, so close yet so far. If I could describe the past two months in one word it would be "frustration".

It just feels like I've sacrificed so much to get here, yet "here" isn't really any different from where I was at the start of the year, this leads to stress, stress leads to upset, upset leads to worry, and worry leads to me freaking out every other day! (Anyone else out there get the Yoda reference besides me?)

On a lighter note I am feeling more positive tonight; I got my academic results earlier today, a 67 average across my modules overall, which means I've got a comfortable 2:1 so far and I'm happy with that. It also means that I'm now officially eligible to go to GWU so that's one less minor worry off my shoulders.

I hope this summer goes quickly...Being home is nice but Wigan can't compare with what's waiting, and I'm tiring of waiting.
